Sumstead is intentionally straightforward about what it does and where your data lives.
Does Sumstead need an account?
No. The app is designed to work without a Sumstead login or app-owned backend.
Can I use it offline?
Yes. Your local ledger, budgets, receipt OCR, search, insights, and exports work on-device. StoreKit and optional iCloud Sync are the only features that may need internet access.
Is iCloud Sync required?
No. Premium iCloud Sync is optional and off by default. The local ledger remains canonical and fully usable without it.
What happens if Premium ends?
Your local records remain readable, editable, deletable, and exportable. Premium automation pauses and optional iCloud Sync stops, but Sumstead does not hold your data hostage.
